We’re all a little broken.

Me

you

everyone.

It’s a matter of how much we talk about it. What do you want to do with that brokenness? Do you want to acknowledge it? Is it hidden? Broken isn’t bad. Broken is real. It’s human. It’s a part of you. Broken doesn’t necessarily need to be fixed. Broken makes you different and real. When you say it out loud “I am a little broken,” how does it feel in your mouth?

It’s okay to not be whole. It’s all right to struggle with that piece of yourself that you can’t explain. Maybe you don’t know where it came from. But maybe, just maybe, it doesn’t matter. What matters is you.

You matter whether you know that or not.

Perhaps being broken is a step. Maybe it’s something that you can learn from.

You are you.

It’s a matter of telling the pieces of you that they don’t all have to make sense. Because nobody makes sense entirely. If we did, we’d be perfect and perfect isn’t real, it isn’t possible and it hurts us to believe that it is.

Once we accept our brokenness, our humanity, it becomes easier to be.

Just be you.

And in being you are whole, even with the pieces missing.
