Stigma Fighters provides our permission for any of the below information to be utilized to promote the organization’s core cause in mental health advocacy and fighting against the stigma of mental illness.
Stigma Fighters is an organization dedicated to spreading awareness about mental health issues in high schools and colleges around the United States
Stigma Fighters began as a blog series where people shared 1000-word essays about living with a variety of mental illnesses. The organization was founded by Psychology Today and Huffington Post Blogger, Sarah Fader. The basis of the program focuses on the invaluable benefits of sharing one’s story.
Contributors to Stigma Fighters include ESPN Journalist Keith Law, Bestselling Author and HuffPost Books Blogger Rachel Thompson, Once Upon a Time Actor Michael Coleman, as well as people from around the world including Australia, The United Kingdom, and Canada.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS:
Sarah Fader is the CEO and Founder of Stigma Fighters, a campaign platform that encourages individuals with mental illness to share their personal stories. She is an author and blogger, having been featured on Psychology Today, The Huffington Post, HuffPost Live, and Good Day New York.
Sarah is a native New Yorker who enjoys naps, talking to strangers, and caring for her two small humans and two average-sized cats. Like six million other Americans, Sarah lives with panic disorder. Through Stigma Fighters, Sarah hopes to change the world, one mental health stigma at a time.
Allie Burke was an author before she told her readers she had been diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia. The admission led her to write hundreds of publications on the subject, some of which have been published in Refinery 29, Vice Magazine, and Women’s Health. She now hosts a writing workshop called The 557 Block to give back to the mental health community by teaching, coaching, and still learning about the art of the written word. She has written ten novels.
Allie is the founder of The OCH Literary Society.
